Hi, Tina. There are several great resources out there. Two are "Kids Talk Hair" and "Thunderhead Hair Care" (a video), both available from http://www.cornrowsandcompany.com . Another is a book called "It's All Great Hair", available from Amazon.com. All of these give instructions about caring for hair, styles and braiding.

aa hair
I have two aa daughters and took a class at my local community college (which teaches a cosmetology course) on braiding aa hair. It was great!!! Plus, I have taken the girls to local braiding places, and "picked" the brain of the woman who does their hair about products, and styles that I can do. She is more than willing to offer advice. If you find a salon that is reluctant to do that, or unwilling, find another, because someone out there will help if you are willing to ask. Good luck
