Hair styles
Hi all!
My daughter is 4 and her hair is all different lengths! I do her hair only one way because I can't think of anything else. Her hair is longer on top and on the lower part of her head, but shorter in the back, middle of her head. She hates anything done with the lower part of her head because when she sleeps she says it's uncomfortable. Does anyone else have pics or ideas for me? Thanks! |

I just ordered the book "It's all good hair" and am waiting for it to come in. It came highly recommended. Sorry that is all I can offer right now

You could try taking her to a stylist to get some ideas.

sounds as if she could use a professional trim. try taking her to a hairstylist of color who knows how to work with her hair for suggestions.
btw, we don't let dd sleep in her hairstyles any more (once she was over 1 year old). we just brush it out at night, comb thru and put it in two very loose sleep braids. then we redo her hair in the morning, either in two braided ponytails or one ponytail. helps her feel comfortable sleeping at night without all the hair stuff like ribbons, barrettes, hair bands, etc. helps to prevent hair damage too.

All Good Ideas
I can empathize with your. My daughter's hair varies in length because she is a hair puller. Just when I think it will all grow out, she pulls a new spot short. Here are the three books that I have that have a TON of styles in them collectively:
Kinki Kreations : A Parent's Guide to Natural Black Hair Care for Kids by Jena Renee Willi It's All Good Hair: The Guide to Styling and Grooming Black Children's Hair by Michele N-K Collison Kids Talk Hair: An Instruction Book for Grown-Ups & Kids -- by Pamela Ferrell I also agree with taking her to a hairstylist. They can even our her hair and possibly cornrow it or do extensions to make it appear a bit fuller until it grows in. Good Luck!
