Soy Yogurt
As some of you know, Parker is lactose intolerant. Our doctor initially told us he could continue having one yogurt per day as yogurt has the most easily broken down milk proteins. However, if the issues persisted, we were to take him off yogurt as well.
We have reached that point. My concern/issue now is that yogurt is his favorite food and is also a fairly high calorie snack. (We continue to do battle with his weight. He did recently have a growth spurt and I'm hoping we'll be past all concern in the near future.) Anyway, I had Josh buy YoSoy yogurt at the grocery this past week. Turns out it still has milk-based cultures. And so, my question, do all soy yogurts have milk-based cultures? If not, what are the brands that don't have milk-based cultures? If so, did your lactose intolerant child tolerate soy yogurts with milk-based cultures okay? Note: not an allergy. Just intolerance.

Here is a page with a recipe for making your own yogurt.
MAKING HOMEMADE SOY YOGURT I'm not vegan, but found some good ideas here. You can order your own yogurt cultures that are not milk based. If you are near one, you might be able to find non-milk based yogurt at Whole foods, or Central Market or some other natural food store.

Oof, that seems difficult but I'll give it a thorough read-through tomorrow morning after some coffee! Thanks!

Marco, my 22 month old, is also lactose intolerant. We didn't find this out until a few months ago, since he nursed for quite a while. We bought the Lactaid milk, the soy yogurt, etc. But then we found this....
Digestive Advantage Children's Lactose Intolerance Therapy You can buy it at Target. It is WONDERFUL! He can eat and drink anything he wants now! You should try it!
