Halloween is Coming!

What are your kiddos being for Halloween this year?

Nick mentioned wanting to be Charlie Brown for Halloween. But he's going to be Sebastian from The Little Mermaid. It's the costume my little brother wore in 92/93 that my grandmother made.

He likes it but he wasn't amused in this picture. HA!

What are you kids going as? (If you don't celebrate Halloween or dress up, please ignore. Not meant to offend!)

Well...

DD wants to be get this... an inch worm. She is 4 1/2 and I just don't know how to make this happen. I'm trying to figure it out. We will most likely already have snow and they'll need to be dressed very warm so I can't just put her in a big stocking which was my initial thought. Any suggestions? This Momma would rather just have her be a fairy or butterfly but she's her own person... an inch worm. Hmmm...

With DS, who's 2, I haven't decided. He loves trains and has a Thomas engineer's hat so I might search for some of those striped overalls and he can be an engineer. Or he might be a cowboy since he wears his boots with EVERYTHING. And we have all the stuff.

Inch worm. Hmm. That sure is interesting. (However, when googling, I came across this and ohmygosh, I almost wish Parker was little enough! GAH!)

Not. Cool. Jenna. Now I want Christopher to be that (of course dh said it is too girly DAH).

I found a lion costume for Cooper & a leopard costume for Christopher at a consignment sale that they are going to be. I was hoping to get something real clever but alas - they will be sorta matching as being too animals that you can find at the zoo right? Right?

I thought about having Keith & I be crazy tourists (ya know...fanny pack, binoculars, safari hats / maps with knee high socks, long shorts, and tucked in shirts?) too kinda "match" it but can't decide if this is a little corny.

I will have to try to get pictures when they are in good moods on Tuesday.

Katie will be going as Cinderella this year. I will be going as a pack horse (you know, the one who carries everything). I won't need a costume for that!

Ed: LOL! Oddly enough my DH is going to be the same thing you are. How odd.

As for DD....she's going to be a lady bug.

Blessed: I don't know how crafty your are, but I've seen patterns out there for the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. I caterpillar is sort of like an inch worm, right?

I saw that one too after I posted here, and it might be an inspiration. It's my fault really, this whole inch worm thing. My obsession with lady bugs for her has turned her into a real bug and stuff enthusiast. Inch worms are just her latest. It might work to use several pieces of fabric, maybe a stretchy material sewed together with some fun trim at the seams... and then I could fit it over her snowsuit. TY Jenna!

I'm thinking we may use a caterpillar 'prototype' lol!! And it seems that I will be crafty this go round whether I like it or not!!!

Lady bugs are goodand so cute... my BUG was one for three years in a row with the cutest costume. But she's done with it even though the costume still fits her. Oh well...

DD's costume is a hand me down from her four-year-old cousin. Seriously, as long as she keeps fitting into J's costumes I'll take them. They pick the cutests things!
We currently have the lady bug, a black cat, giraffe and a care bear. They're all in perfect condition and they're free!
I will admit to buying last year's skunk costume from the Children's Place, but I waited until the last minute so I got it for less than $10.

TJ will be Fonzie. Jeans, white t-shirt slicked back hair. He has this battery operated 4 wheeler to ride down the street. I love the costumes, but here in Houston it is too hot. Last year he was a monkey and almost passed out from the heat. Not really, but it was hot.

Jenna, N is adorable!!! I actually love pictures of kids when they are annoyed!

DD was a ladybug last year (consignment). Just got her an adorable witch costume with the best witch's hat (consignment...do you see the theme?!).

Fonzie - that is unbelievably hilarious...

Sigh - alas, my kids are still in the Star Wars phase...

I will either have 2 Boba fetts, or 1 boba fett and one Jango fett...

JD came home and told me he wanted to be a Bumblebee...I got so excited until I realized that he meant the yellow guy from transformers. Then he saw Boba Fett, and the rest is history.

I miss the days when I got to pick the costumes...Adam was Robin Hood one year and I could have just eaten him up he was so cute!!!
