Favorite Book/Books

Gosh it is soooo dead on this board. I am going to try to get something started.

What is your toddler's favorite book or books? Right now my daughter really likes her Sesame Beginnings "So Big" Elmo book. Of course she really likes anything Elmo. She also really loves a book called "First 100 Words" by Bright Baby - It is a big picture book with pictures of common foods, objects, clothing, animals, etc and their names. We look at it all the time and I ask her where things are. It has really helped with her receptive vocabulary.

Go Dog Go.

Because it's easy to memorize so little guy can "read" it to us even though he can't read yet. He loves that.

My kids loved all the Sandra Boynton books, especially The Going to Bed Book and Dinosaur's Binkit. Pat the Bunny is a classic that they both liked, also, as well as Good Night Moon and I Love You This Much.

My foster daughter came to us when she was 4 mos old and has loved Goodnight Moon right off.
She also loves Boyntons Going to bed book, Snuggle Puppy and One, Two Three (anything with YELLING in it) and we have a Dora book called The Little Duck - one of those with the noises that she loves, and any books with photos of baby faces. She is 14 mos old now.
I love how she loves her books.

Heart

The Froggy books by Jonathan London...

Froggy gets Dressed
Froggy First Kiss
Froggy goes Swimming

My daughters go to sleep with the books in hand, and can be heard "reading" the books at night. They are only 2. They love the language.

We love all the Boyton books here. The Belly Button Book is her current favorite and every night we read The Going to Bed Book. Very entertaining and awesome illustrations

There are a couple Sesame Street books that are really great fun. One is "There's a Monster at the End of this Book", with Grover. and then there is "Another Monster at the End of This Book" with Grover and Elmo. Every child that I have ever read these to has laughed and laughed. Of course you have to really get into it yourself too, to make it fun. Grover is telling you not to turn the pages because of the monster at the end of the book. so I read what it says, then have the child turn the page, then in my best Grover voice read Grover's reaction.
The other two "Grover" books my sons loved were "Resting Places" and "The Everything in the Whole Wide World Museum".

My daughter has this book titled I Love You So Much...

It is amazing. I can't recall the author, but it is wonderfully illustrated and well written. A mom and child are talking about how much mom loves the child...even when he misbehaves, etc. It is darling. My daughter loves it so much, she carries it around with her sometimes away from home. It is so worn, I am going to have to buy a new one.

stacym, be sure if you buy a new book to keep the old one in a safe place. What a wonderful childhood momento when she is grown!
