Newbie introduction
Hey guys -
We just turned one (well, my daughter did) and have moved over to this forum. Thought I would introduce myself and share a Christmas picture. Our daughter has a hemangioma (birthmark) on her forehead. Everyone always thinks she bumped her head. This is a common type of birthmark and will go away as she gets older. In fact, it is already starting to regress! We adopted through domestic adoption and have been with our daughter since she was born at the hospital. We have a semi open adoption (supposed to be open, but we are more open than the bmom & bdad). We would like more contact, but are letting them set the pace. Sometimes we hear from them frequently and sometimes not for months (like now - haven't heard from them since September). ![]()

Hi there -
Saw your post..I have never posted on this forum but thought I would also say "hi". I am fostering a 28 month old boy. Hoping to adopt one day..not certain if this child will become available but I am giving him all the love he can stand in the meantime... Your family photo is beautiful!

Oooh Snaps - That dress is gorgeous. Makes me want to have a girl!!! And the pic w/ her C'mas ball ornament is adorable. glad to see the whole family.
Welcome to our little Toddler Club! This will be such a fun C'mas for us this year!!! Even though I thought last year couldn't be topped........ I hope to have some holiday pics of baby A on here soon. I really hope you hear from her bparents during the holidays. I know it's hard this time of year for them, but it would mean so much!!!

Thanks guys. I love that dress too. I got it at The Children's Place. We are excited about Christmas. Last year Jessica was so little. This year she will be ready to open the presents although she probably will have more fun tearing the paper, playing with boxes, etc. She cried when we took her to Santa, but we managed to snap a photo with a semi smile. Here is one more picture from last year. The caption should be "Chloe says, "That is not what I asked Santa for""

Speaking of Santa..about 5 minutes ago I finished reading my FS a bedtime story when I heard the town fire engine outside. Someone was on a microphone yelling "come outside to see Santa".
I didn't even have time to put on his coat...we rushed outside and there was Santa on a sled that was being pulled by the fire engine. He gave my FS a candycane. FS was in a daze (I'm sure due to being sleepy and the excitement). Once inside FS insisted on sleeping with the candy cane. Certainly a memory of a lifetime. P.S. I love the suburbs (smile) Merry Christmas to all who celebrate...
