Potty training

Our daughter is almost 20 months old, and I think she is showing signs of readiness for potty training. Sooo, does anyone have any advice?! I saw a web site which sells an ebook that tells you how to potty train your child in 3 days. Has anybody tried that? I'm not sure what to think of that. I'm sure we'll need to be prepared for several months of "training".

No advice just wanted to wish you luck! We have two older boys 11 and 15 and they both trained themselves by the time they were two. Castle on the other hand is not doing so well, too strong willed! I thought she was ready a few months ago but she would not try. She will be two May 24 and is still not interested. This morning she woke up dry and sit for 15 minutes without going. Hopefully she will start to use it soon!
Good luck and let us know if you find any short cuts.

Hey Tigger, Just wondering how the potty training is going? We tried again all day today but had no good results. I think I am going to have to wait a few more months for her to be ready.

I'm in the same boat! I put the potty out for Sophia at 21 months and she used it the very first time. Hasnt sat on it since. Just says "no, no, no" to me every time I mention it or if I am even standing by it.
I've tried all kinds of bribes but she isnt budging! She'll be 2 in June and I would love to have a start on this by then.

Let me know if you find something that works!

I have once again put the potty away for a while, Castle just doesn't seem ready. I have always been told girls were eaiser to train than boys but she is really proving them wrong! Our boys were trained in a couple of days, both before they were two. I just think Castle is going to be hard all the way around We are going to Florida the end of June and I really wanted her to be out of diapers. I guess I will try again the end of May and if she doesn't train then I will have to wait until after the trip. Any success storys yet???????

My ollder one did not finish with potty training until just after her third birthday, and the younger one, adopted almost a year ago at age 4, is still have accidents (due to emotional issues). I do think 2 is on the young side.

I can tell you from experience (with the older one) that pressuring them really does backfire. The thing that finally got C to poop in the toilet was to let her run around naked at the time of day she normally pooped (in the evening). The first time, she said urgently "I need my diaper", and then she ran to the toilet. Only had to do that three days in a row. Good luck to you all!

My son turned two last month, and we are going to start potty training at the end of this month (when we get back from holidays). I thought I would wait, but he loves the whole potty thing (and is miserable for diaper changes)

I'm looking at this as an activity. That is what we are doing that week...lol. I'm not planning other activities, because I don't want to use diapers at all...i think consistancy will be important for him (considering his personality type) so, it'll be a cut and dry (no pun intended) thing.

I'm excited about it...he loves the toilet and all things pee related (washing/drying hands). I think it will be an exciting time for him.
