Thank you letter

I was blessed that my adoptive parents were open with the fact that I was adopted. I have known and been comfortable with it all my life.

My mother told me when I was in college that she wouldn't mind if I searched for my birthmom. I hadn't really given it a thought because I always liked to pretend that my mother and father were really famous people that just didn't have time for me. But, I decided I would like to know who I looked like and other info.

I started by contacting the adoption agency that handled my case. Even though I couldn't pay the charge (and didn't feel a need to because my parents always give a gift of money every year to that agency in my and my brother's name)they still gave me non-identifying info.

I now know everything about my bf except the names. And I am happy with that. I left a letter in my file at the adoption agency for my birthmom and a picture of me in case she ever comes looking for me. I tell her thank you and that I am alright.

I hope someday to meet her, but for now am simply satisfied with what I know. I also now give donations to the adoption agency for doing their best and helping me.

So for all bp and adoptees good luck with your searches and be happy no matter what.
