special needs
I am wondering if any of you know how firm Thailand is about the age requirement of no more than fourty years between the youngest parent and the child? I have found a child on a photo listing whom has severe special needs. The baby is two and I am fourty three making me one year over. I am also single and have a large family. I know they prefer zero to two children however again with the severity of special needs I am wondering if exceptions are made.
I have never thought about an international adoption and am approved domestically in Canada but this little one has captured my heart. I am also wondering once a child is identified what the time frame is for travel and do you have to travel to Thailand or can you have an escort? Thanks for any input. Tricia |

I can answer some of your questions. We are currently waiting to travel to pick up our son in Bangkok. He is also listed as special needs. We put in our application in April and hope to go in January, so a very short wait in the adoption world. You will have to travel to Thailand to appear before the board. I would send the rest of your questions to the agency that is advocating for this little guy and get their opinion.
