your forms helped me greatly, I used them in terminating the rights of my son's biological father and we are in the process of my husband adopting my son. Without your forms we were stuck in the mud, thank you and I wish you and your family all of the happiness in the world.

Thank you SO much for this! I am trying to start the process of my ex signing over his right and allowing my husband to adopt my son. It has been over a year since my ex has had contact with my 5 year old. I have been with my husband for over 3 years and my son loves him! Our budget is tight and this helps a great deal! I have a question regarding these forms. First I was wondering if they needed to be altered at all to fit our oown situation. For instance, I was never married to my sons father so on the ORIGINAL PETITON FOR TERMINATION it states something about no other court proceedings excpet when granted a divorce. Does that need to be taken out, or just ignored? Also, does the state of Texas update forms frequently or will these forms be sufficient? Thanks in advance for any responses!

Here is my question...In TX do you have to be married a specific length of time before you can adopt your stepchild?

No, the child and stepparent just have to be living in the same home for at least 6 months.

Alter to fit your situation, with my papers I changed that part to except for custody orders filed with ...... These will work, I just used them in May for our adoption and there were no issues with them.

The forms have been a great help. I am looking for what they call a Step-Parent's Affidavit Do you know what they are talking about is it one of the forms you have here just under a different name.
