Unhappy i was a rapee

i was a rapee an me an my wife has worked out that problem. now we need to know how she can adopt our daughter, with out the consent of the raper, i have been raped many times before, but this one was a blessing i dont want nothing to do with him and i dont want him to have any thing to do with my daughter, he has had nothing to do with her in no shape for or matter, i would like to keep it that way. is there any kind of way my spouse can adopt her without the rapers consent. please tell me something soon. because she loves this little girl with all of her heart and really want her to be the mother as well.

I really have no idea...sorry! I would guess though that you'd need to have his rights terminated completely through the courts. Then as far as your partner doing a step parent adoption, I don't know if your state allows that?

I would contact a family lawyer. But perhaps someone else will know for sure...

In Texas, even convicted sex offenders retain rights - even if the offense is the same one that left you pregnant. So, yes, he will have to consent - or you will have to terminate his rights by other means, so you'll need to contact an attorney.

As for second parent adoptions by same sex couples, I don't think that's allowed in Texas, but I could be wrong. Again, contact an attorney

Good luck.
