Yea!!!!

Oh my gosh! Happy Birthday to me! I got a call today about 2 lil girls that are available for adoption. 5 y/o coming from RTC. They want to wait til she has a little time to adjust then bring in the 3 y/o from her foster home. Anyone had a situation like it??? Don't know how long I should expect to wait for 3 y/o to be placed. Really excited because I also got a call on a 22 mo. old boy who was only foster for now, and I almost took him, but I stuck to my guns and said adopt only. It was so hard to turn him down though. I'm not sure I have ever said no to a placement. Hopefully this will work out great. I'm supposed to get some more information tomorrow like when they will be bringing 5 y/o and such. It's funny, my dh asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said "kids", he said I think you are asking the wrong person, so I prayed, and now look!!!! Great Birthday.

thanks

Thanks so much for the congrats. I talked to my cw today and she said that we would have to change my license to accept all levels of kids and my age range to 6 because the 5 y/o will be 6 in sept. and it would keep things from having to be redone then. I'm just waiting on word from the cps worker to know when they will be bringing them. I'm so excited, but so scared that something will happen that this don't work out. Seems like that is what has happened everytime before, so I am really nervous. They said that the 5 y/o is adhd and bipolar. WTH? how can they diagnose a 5 y/o with bipolar????? The only thing I know of that is in her records is that she is hyperactive and hords food. Nothing in there sends a red flag to me for bipolar or even adhd really. Seems like a normal 5 year old that has just really been through alot of crap. I mind you... she has been in the system most of her life! Multiple foster homes and then a RTC. Really sad!

It doesn't seem possible to think of a 5 year old having such trouble, but it does happen. I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but she has to have some major issues to already be dx bipolar and be in RTC. Yes, she has been through more than we can imagine, but it manifests in their behaviors.
I wish you the best. Please update as you can.
