Besides photo listings-how to find child for adoption

This may be a dumb question...but besides photo listings, how else do you find out about children available for adoption?
We are foster to adopt parents, and have decided on ages 0-8 yrs old, up to a 2 sib set, preferable girls.
How do you find kids besides online? I've asked my agency (Pathways) to put me on an email list they send out for kids available for adoption. Does this take a while?
We've submitted our interest in 2 sets of kids on the TARE site, which I know takes a while to find anything out. But is this the best and only way to find kids?

Any help would be appreciated.

We're in Texas. I don't really know of a way to find kids available other than to make sure your CW knows what you are looking for. With foster/adopt, you are taking kids and waiting to see if they come open for adoption. It can take a while. Kids on the websites are already free for adoption.

Well we do foster to adopt and not that it has worked well for us yet but I tell anyone who will stand still long enough about our family and that we want to adopt etc. Most of the kids we got they really did think were going to go to non relative adoption but it has not worked out that way for us yet.
