Hello all. I have recently submitted Interest Forms for Foster/Foster to Adopt to both Depelchin and CPS. My question is, can I do both, or do I need to choose? Also, if I can do both do I have to go through the entire process for each entity, or is it somewhat consolidated?

From what I know you can't do both. You either go with the department (department of family & protective services) or with a private agency.

Well I guess I have to choose then! From what I have read here, Private Agencies tend to be easier to work with and better foster subsidies. However, I have also read that sometimes the State only places in-house, so I might miss out on a potential foster/forever child.

I'm not sure about that I think if I read the handbook right, you can be Licensed by But one as a foster placement and the other as adoption only .
And If you have to choose go private , you get a much closer relationship , with your caseworker that way , we're dual licensed our selfs through cps ( and there are times you'll need had holding
