Just Waiting Now.....

After a year + in the process to become certified, my husband and I were certified as foster and fost-adopt parents with a complete homestudy in December.

I know it has only been a month but we haven't received any calls. We just want to help children and get one in our house. Our case worker tells us that there just haven't been any in our age range (3-11 yrs).

I understand things are slow during the holidays because kids aren't in school. I am very happy for the children of the Houston area if there truly aren't any kids from age 3 - 11 that are in need of a home, but it strikes me as odd that it would be the case.

Anxiously awaiting and just wanted to vent a little that after all the time waiting for approval, I'm still waiting!!!

I know, it's the story of life - wait and then rush around so that you can wait some more.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas on ways to pass the time until we get a call, please let me know.

My way of passing time isn't something I'd recommend--buying adorable things I find. I don't have any advice, but do want to give you a big hug!

Thank you so much for the hug. Sometimes this process gets draining, but then I think of the kids that we will be able to help and I can't help but smile.
