We are getting so excited only 1 more day til Friday when we leave for Houston to meet our boys. I got an email from their caseworker tell me that the boys have seen our life book and are really excited that a family has been found for them. Ea ch of them has picked out one of our dogs that they would like to sleep with.

We are so excited. I have the hotel reserved and think I have found a place that we can take them with the time we have.

I have little gift bags for each of them and a little something for the foster mom. We will meet them at the fostermoms home and the play therapist will be there as well.

I probably wont get a bit of sleep tomorrow night

We are 70 miles out of Houston . Just had a blow out but got tire changed and did a quick stop at SSonic for supper. I did not realize how much traffic there is the the further south we go.
You just can't imagine the anticipation the whole family is feeling
The pllan as given to us is to meet at the foster parents house in the morning at 9am to meet THE BOYS YEAH II bet I don't get a bit of sleep tonight.
Friends,family & coworkers have been calling me along thr way that has helped for time to go faster on this long ride. DD is enduring the long ride pretty good. AAnother hour or so hopefully will be at hotel. Sorry for any typos doing this on handheld in dark while riding in the car. Just love these new phones.

WE MET OUR BOYS!! We finally got to meet them after getting lost in Houston and arriving 30 min late. I have never seen the likes of such a maze of road!!lol

We arrived and the boys were anxiously awaiting with their play therapist and CW. Both boys were not sure about DD and her wheelchair and were a little stand offish to her for about 30 min and then all was good.

We were at the fostermoms house for about 2 hours getting to know them. THEY ARE PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY!!! The foster family has done a GREAT job with these boys. They are very polite, answering with yes mam no sir etc. We left the house with the plans of foster mom dropping off to our hotel around 3:30. This gave us time to eat lunch and of course get the tire replaced that we had blown out the night before.

These two boys are full of energy and were pretty wound up when they got to the hotel. They checked out the room and wrestled around for a while like brothers do and we all decided to leave for the resturant. Needless to say WE GOT LOST AGAIN!

According to online there was suppose to be another Rainforest Cafe near the Galleria area. Getting lost it took us about 1 1/2 hours to get there only finding that this is the Landrey Corp HQ. The guard inside told us that the Cafe is in Katy which was the initial plan til we thought this other one was closer.

So after discussion with all we decided to head on to Katy. All three of the kids were saying "we are hungry"
But it was so worth the treking forward. I could not believe how well behaved these two boys were for aprox 2 hours in the car but we did get to know them better talking along the way.

Finally we arrived at the resturaunt and OMG you should have heard and seen the boys. They were so excited. Aquariums, mechanical animals, thunder storms etc. We were seated close to a mechanicel elephant that moved and blinked and swung his trunk around. One of the boys was pretty neurvous but the other was right up there touching the trunk. We ordered the food and then walked around looking at all of the sites of the cafe. Taking pictures of course.By the time we were ready to leave both boys had touched the elephants trunk.

Somehow we didnt get lost going back to the hotel and everyone was pretty exhusted so we all got ready for bed. The next morning we got up and everyone got their showers and breakfast downstairs. The DH decided to take all the kids out to the grassy area of the hotel to let them run off some energy. Lunch at the nearby Burger King and then packing to be checked out by noon.

They were picked up by foster sister and lots of hugs and kisses and goodbys. The boys reminding up that they are going to be at our house on Friday.The boys are very excited they are coming to our house this Friday and cant wait to see their rooms which each has picked out the room they want. Needless to say we too are very excited they will be here.

Then the LONG drive back to Lubbock. We got home about 9:30pm. Needless to say we are exhausted but feel the 1st meeting went very very well. We cant wait for them to get here Friday.

I thought about you the entire weekend. I am so glad it went well for you. Rainforest Cafe is a fun place to go, good choice. How many more visits will there be before you get to keep the boys in your home permenantly?

The boys come to our house for the weekend on Friday and fly back to Houston Sunday morning. They come back on the 20th and will stay. The caseworker will do a home visit on 12/29 and come back for actual placement on Jan 6.

I am so excited that we will have them for the holidays and will enroll them in school on the 6th when school is back in. We can hardly wait and I have been busy getting Christmas presents for the last few weeks. I havent been this excited about Christmas for the last few years it is so exciting

I am glad to see that everything went great for you all..the boys sound like they are some great kids and they are really ready to move into their new home..that is wonderful!!!!

I live in Dallas and the drive to Houston (4 hrs) normally wears me thin so I can only imagine what the drive from Lubbock to Houston is like...I commend your family for making such a long trek and keeping your sanity...lol!!!!!!
