Houston I need some HELP

Finally we hava a date to meet our boys. We will leave Lubbock Friday to drive the long drive to Houston. The boys have play therapy Sat morning at 9 so we are to go the the foster families house to finally meet them for and hour or so..... Then... The fostermother already made arrangements for them to attend a party 1-3 so we cant pick them up until 3:30 and they will spend the night at the hotel with us.

Well here is where I need some help from yall...I have checked every musem, zoo, aquarium etc and every place closes around 5-6. The Aquarium was my last hope closing at 11pm on Sat but the other day checked their website and wouldnt you know they will be closed for a private event. So.....now I am at a loss not knowing Houston.... what there is to do with a 8 and 9 year old.

I also emailed the caseworker to see if she could provide some ideas but she did not email me back. I have also checked the Houston Chron. Anyone in the Houston area have any suggestions or know of some events taking place evening of Dec 6th...any help well be greatly appreciated

Houston is HUGE, what side of town will you be staying on? There are LOTS of really neat things to do especially since it's Christmas time. If you give me a side of town, I'll make a list for you.

This place : Painted Potter Studio would be PERFECT! You make your own pottery. It's a great bonding activity. There is a Chuck E. Cheese a block away too. There is also a neat dinner moive theater across the street. Have you ever been to one? You sit at a table and have dinner served to you while you watch a movie. It's a blast! I'm thinking at their ages the movie Bolt would be a hit Star Cinema Grill - Menu

You could take them to the Galleria. They have an indoor ice skating rink. It's really fun! You could always do snacks (hot chocolate and cookies) in the mall too.

There is a neat inflatable playground near the airport. I think it's called Jumpin Joey's. My kids LOVE that place. Jumpin Joeys Party

It is only a short drive, about 10 miles but beware traffic. The best place I can think of with kids is the Rain Forest Cafe in Katy, or there is one in Galveston, too. It is really cool, moving animals, indoor rain storms, and great food. THe one in Katy did really kool balloon characters too!
