We were selected as a legal risk family for a baby girl a week ago at a RAS. We've been told that we are waiting for a judge to sign off on the placement.

In your experience, how long has it taken from RAS to home? I'm wondering if we'll have her home for her first birthday or Christmas.

In our case, about two months. I think we were actually on the fast end of things. It just takes a really long time to get anything done.

1 - Judge approves
2 - De-identified record gets de-indentified (why this isn't done beforehand still ticks me off)
3 - Appt. to read de-identified record.
4 - Phone staffing or presentation to ask questions to current foster family and caseworkers
5 - Set up first meeting
6 - Transition visits
7 - Adoption Assistance Paperwork
8 - Kiddo comes home!!!!!!
