We have gone through the Foster/Adopt process through CPS. I was just wondering how long it takes before you hear something after the Homestudy. Do we just sit and wait until we are contacted?

I don't know the answer, as we are waiting to have our homestudy scheduled still, but I would like to know also... anyone out there have an answer for us?

We went through an agency so it may be a little different. We were licensed approximately 2 months after our last homestudy visit. I called every two weeks or so for an update. Our first placement came VERY quickly after our approval.

Use this time to get everything ready! Before you know it the phone will ring and the wait will be a distant memory. From first class to license was 8 months.

I was licensed with CPS and didn't yet know it and had two calls for placement. One for a newborna and one for a sibling group. I asked the worker if I was even licensed. By all the postings I've read, I wasn't the only one. Placements, depending on your profile, are pretty quick. Good luck.

Our agency told us normally its about 5 months but they can push it if you want it done sooner. We finished our health inspect, our fire inspect, our Pride Classes, our Medication training in 2 weeks. We are scheduled for our 1st home study on the 2nd of December and our 2nd shortly after.

Our agency is trying to find a way to make christmas happen for the two girls we're interested in. She's jumping through a lot of hoops but the girls CW just isn't really helping at all.

I am impatiently waiting here. Our homestudy was turned in Thursday. But we recieved a call about a sibling group two days before it was even turned in. Tomorrow we go to an informational class about psychotropic medications as the oldest is on some. Hopefully I'll get some more answers then.

Well, My timeline below tells my story. However I was called for a placement before I was licensed. I do not have the actual license in my hands but I am licensed, what date is on it. I have no idea.

I am working with a private agency contracted with CPS.
