Smile How much are CPS houston adoption fees??

I was wondering if anyone has any idea about the range of he cost of adopting through CPS in houston. Does CPS pay for the lawyers or do the adoptive parents pay for it. And how much does that usually cost. My husband and I are going to our first orientation meeting on Tuesday, but I dont want to go, if there is going to be no way in the world we can afford this. Any info would help, thanks. tara

You need to go to the meeting to get all the information you can before you decide what to do. It's the only way to really find out what you need to know. Generally speaking, when you adopt through the state, it doesn't cost the way it does to adopt through a private agency if you are interested in adopting a baby. But, it all depends on what you think you might want in terms of adoption. There are so many questions: are you interested in fostering and then adoptign, are you just looking for an infant and then are you wanting a particular ethnic group or gender, etc. So many questions! Go to the meeting with pages of questions and ask away. There are so many avenues that you will learn about. Good luck and have fun, it will be an eye opener.

Adoption in Houston

Go to the meeting. This is the only way we can afford to adopt a child and we will be able to be a blessing to other kids as well.
