K my kiddos I really think are going to family. We have pushed for this because even though we adore them they have grandparents that look stable and without a doubt love them. I know that even if TPR happens they will not come up for adoption by us because they will place with relatives and I feel like if that is the case sooner is better than later especially for a 2 year old. I have asked thier worker repeatedly since court if they were any further along. She of course has told us nothing. Finally last week she says that she is "requesting" a home study on the grandparents. This was after my case manager emailed her sup over status issues amoung other things that we had not gotten yet. Anyone have a clue what kind of timeline we are looking at here? They have passed all the background checks and we are only waiting on a homestudy. My heart says surely this will not take 3 months to get this done ... but my brain knows better. The county my kiddos are from is known for moving quickly but my worker is new and just does not have it together at all.

The speed I think depends on the motivation of cps. I have heard of them getting approved in as little as 2 weeks. But as we all know it can take much longer.

Thanks. I am afraid there is no motivation here. I adore having these kiddos in my home but everyday they are with me it will make it that much harder on all of us (including them) when they leave. Gotta love other peoples lives being in the hands of someone who has no motivation lol. I guess I will do what I figured I would have to anyway. Sit back and enjoy the time I have with them .

When my husband and I were first given "permanent placement" of our great-neice. The homestudy was completed on a Tuesday and we were told on Thursday we passed! (although we did already have her in our custody due to judge allowing it)! I was glad to hear that our home passed. Ive had to call CPS daily to get things from them sometimes. Good luck! We have had S since Dec 12, she had TPR in August she is suppose to go to a grandmother in OK. They have been trying to get her since Aug. This family has already adopted 4 kids. What is the hold-up?

It is amazing isn't it? I talked to the kids worker today. She said she submitted to have it done and they have a certain amount of time that it has to be done in. Eyeroll. She called me today and honestly it almost scared me ... she NEVER calls me. Mom tested clean and they are having visits. She told me I could skip this week if I wanted told her no we would find a place to put it in. So Friday is no longer my only day this week to do nothing lol.
