CASA Help
I have a CASA worker that is giving me a hard time. This worker is calling and it feels to me like she is "smearing" my name. I have considered consulting my attorney because I know that in the "system" your name is your reputation. So my question is does anyone think that it would violate any of our agreements as foster parents? I just feel like I have talked to everyone and it still has not stopped. Every person that I have talked to has been called numerous times.
I have tried to get support from my agency and its been no help. This is all incredibly frustrating. I have even considered ending the placement because of how extreme this is. Thanks as always for any advice, and for allowing me to vent. I really need it right now with this placement. ![]()

Who is giving you the hard time the CASA or the caseworker? either way if you fel yo are not being treated fairly before disrupting placement i would write a letter the the supervisors, and send one to the judge i dont know how long before your fosterchilds next court date. but that would be my avenue as i would not disrupt a placement and make the child suffer because of something between myself and the workers involved

I dont really care for my fs and fd's CASA worker. She has not once been out to our house to see the kids with us and has actually taken the birthmom shopping and sat in on the visits to give the mom and dad parenting advice. She pushed and pushed for G and R to get to go home by Christmas and that didn't happen. I thought CASA was supposed to be on the kids side.

The CASA is subposed to be an advocate for the children. I know that this might be her intention, but it sure is making it tough on me.
Thank you for the suggestion about writing a letter. As a matter a fact, I know that they have court again at the end of the month and their attorney is coming by the house. I will ask her when she comes by. I know that this placement is tough already, but she is making it way worse. They are the ONLY reason it has not already ended. They are all doing so much better - far from great or perfect - but way better than they were when they got here. Does anyone have any idea why they would have a court date in Dec and then again in Jan? Thanks!

sometimes
it depends maybe something that should have been done wasnt and the judge gave 30 or sometimes even less for whomever to get it done... may i ask how long you have had these children in your home? if its more then six months you should be able to file defacto parent and be allowed to speak in court

mom2behappy- the kids came here to our home in December. We were their second home and had been in care since Sept of 2007. They were removed from the last home for medical neglect.
It has been a huge transition for our family and I have to admit that they are a handful. That is probably why I get so irritated that their CASA worker is giving me such a hard time. I am working hard to advocate for the children so she and I should be working together and not against each other. It would make things much easier. But until then I continue to care for them as if they were my kids. The youngest gets tubes next month and then maybe tonsils on another one. So at least they can't say that I am not taking them to the doctor. ![]() They actual attorney comes for a visit tonight so I am going to ask her what her opinion is about all of this. It seems that when I think that the incident is over, I hear about it from someone else. She (the casa) is calling everyone. I mentioned to my case manager that if I was doing that to her it would be called slander... Have a great day everyone!

I just wanted to give everyone an update on this situation. We had to put in notice to have the kids moved. This was never going to stop. Since the procedure is to remove all kids and ask questions later we do not want to go through that. We have a foster child we want to adopt.
This casa ended up making another call to the cw out of turn with the wrong information last Thursday. This prompted a call to me from the cw.... the first one since they were placed I might add. This was a very difficult decision for us. We feel so bad for the effect it is going to have on the kids. We have only just started to make some real progress with the behaviors. Thanks to everyone for all the support and nice words.
