hi we just found out we can adopt a child from TX and we are in ohio but no one will tell me how long the ICPC will take. can you help me if you can

Congrats. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question.

We have been trying to get access to a child in Texas, but are constantly going no where. Any tips you have would be appreciated.

i dont no how we got picked but with out the help of the foster family he is at now i no we would not of got picked if she did not like our homestudy and profile..

I am waiting in TX for on to gp through on a Relative in OK on one of my FS. Court was over two weeks ago and the paper work had still not been completed to even start the ICPC. That is part of the reason it takes so long. It has to go through a bunch of different places/people to get done! I hope ours drags on foever because we don't want our FS to leave, but for you I hope it is very speedy!!

I am in MN and have adopted from Texas twice. The ICPC process was the shortest part for me. It took for ever to get the ok, then the ICPC was completed in a couple of weeks. That is once it got off the workers desk (the longest part). IT is not just Texas though it also depends on how long it will take for your state to approve it. MN approved mine both times within a couple of days. I will say working with Texas was a slow process but once the ICPC was done it went really quick.

just my experiences. I have also worked with two different parts of Texas and experience was very similar. Would adopt from Texas again.

Hi just wanted to let eveyone one no what is going on with our little guy in tx. well i called adoption worker and she is out for a month on med. leave. but someone else is taking over our case .
So we are at the point where the adoption worker is getting more papers from my agency updated homestudy,up dated back ground checks, and a few other things.
So after that is done i'm not sure were we go can someone tell me i no the adoption worker in tx told me that icpc has started already. So that is good But no one noes when we can go and pick him up
but we did get a phone call last week for a sibling group and we will find out next week if we are their forever home also..
our case worker in ohio told us we could adopt both from tx and nv at the same time. SO we are going to have lots of kids

we will have 8 kids 3 bios 4 adoption from one state and 1 adoption from another and a friends baby we get when ever we want and FFS who we are getting joint custody of when mom gets him back long story.
