Medicaid Card - how long?
We have had our fs for almost 3 weeks. We still do not have a medicaid card for him. He has no shot records (he is 2) so is not able to go to any licensed childcare facilities. We were told the paperwork was turned in last Tues. (a week ago today). Do you know how long it should take to get this?

I had the same problem with my latest foster child and after complaining for weeks I finally got one. It is my understanding that they can get you an emergency card if necessary. My child had one worker that I constantly called and questioned her about it and then he got his permanent worker and I had the card within 3 days.
Just keep asking them when and maybe it will get done. I think sometimes they get overwhelmed and forget to do that part of the job. I know how frustrating it is and the fact that they expect the child to go to the doctor and dentist within 2 weeks of being placed in your home but yet they can never seem to get the card to you within that time... Good luck... |
