Respite Care Provider
We have been licensed F/A since January. While waiting for a placement, we told our worker to put us down as a respite provider. Have any of you provided respite, how often do you get calls? I was not sure how big of a need this is, or if we would ever get asked. We are in the North East Texas area.

We are Legal Risk Foster to Adopt, so no emergency placements, they will be close to or have TPR before our placements. (we have 2 bios: girl 7, boy 8) We were afraid of emergency placements. Later on when the kids are older we will consider it. Have you done any respite care for anyone?

We are foster to adopt. Since Jan we have been asked to respite care probably 4 times but it has never actually happened due to last minute things on both sides. I always feel obligated to say yes though, because I can't help think they won't be as helpful if I say no.

Wow! That is great to hear. We just asked to be put on the respite list last week. We are anxious to get our feet wet. Maybe we will get a call soon.
