Hi! I've been reading on this board for several weeks now, but this is my first time to post. My husband and I are getting licensed to foster/adopt. We are hoping to receive our license this week. We are in Flower Mound and I've been looking for a doctor and dentist in this area (FM, Lewisville, south Denton, Coppell, Grapevine). I'm also looking for a local support group. Is anyone in this area? Have any ideas?

Welcome to the boards! Does your agency not have a list of doctors and dentists who accept Medicaid in your area? If not, a sure fire hit would be a children's hospital in the area.

I look forward to seeing you around and hope someone gets with you about the support group. (Have you asked your agency that one as well?)

Welcome! You're a bit farther north than any of my friends in your region (they are all in or near Ft. Worth). From others comments, it seem that the agencies up there are well hidden (they do exist, just hard to find them).

As far as a support group, there's one at our agency, and we never are able to attend! It's always Tuesdays and our kids have religion classes on Tuesdays!

So, my best support system is this board. I've learned a lot. There are awesome people that come here to vent, support others, and give great info. So, the more you come, the more you'll find.

Thanks for the information. I did ask my agency about doctors and dentist. They are a fairly new agency so I don't think they've developed a list yet. I haven't asked them about support groups yet, but I will do that as well.

The agency has our license ready to send to us so we expect to get it either tomorrow or Wed.! We are very excited, nervous, and anxious!

I have learned a lot on these boards already so will continue to check in.
