Finished Pride Classes
We finished Pride Classes last week. The last social worker that talked that day told us to wait on getting everything done until we were assessed. The other social worker that had been teaching the class pressed all six weeks to get the CPR, the fire inspection done, TB tests. I'm really bummed. The last social worker said don't do - you might not even be approved to go on to the homestudy.
I worked so hard getting everything done during those six weeks. How long does it take to be assessed, then a homestudy done. We are going through CPS. I feel like I've been jerked around. Mom to three biological children 25, 15, 14 (would have been) |

Patti,
Hang in there - it can be trying deal with PRS. Been there. Do as the first social worker said - get the TB tests, fire inspection, CPR, and health inspection done. The health inspection may need to be done twice - the first one never goes smoothly, I'm told (mine didn't). Doing this shows you're committed, and it also gives you something to do while you're waiting for your home study. It usually takes up to 30 days after you finish PRIDE to get a social worker assigned to you. Then the home study can take 2-6 weeks depending on the worker's schedule. But it's all worth it! |
