Where are all the babies?!!!!

Last year there were so many babies coming into care around here and this year it's been pretty dry. All of my friends seem to be pregnant right now so I know it's happening! I know it's a good thing that these poor inocents aren't needing homes, it's just strange that there is such a difference in the years. We're been empty for 6 months and there haven't been than many babies placed at all in our county since summer. I just hope it's not because CPS is not pulling children that they should.

stepforone,

I've received so many calls for babies lately that I've turned down every one until last week when I accepted a 2-month-old. I have gotten calls for a 2-day-old and a 3-day old! And then a set of twins came into care last week (they didn't offer them to me but the worker for the baby that I have now mentioned it).

I live in North Texas, DFW area...

I guess they're all hitting your area. We're east of you and it sure is lonely without a little one around. And twins are what we are looking for! Oh well, have fun with your new addition. I'm jealous!

Jean,

In Texas, you don't necessarily have to foster or adopt in your geographical area. Create a one-page Word file with photos and info on your family. Include your contact info and your case worker's contact info. Then mail it or email it to intake and social workers all over Texas. I got my daughter because I had given a flyer to her worker at a conference the month before and she remembered me! Call each regional PRS office and ask for the names and email addresses of childrens' advocates and intake officers.
