We are so excited we are finally approved. Due to several things we have been over a year trying to get approved! They called us yesterday to let us know it was a done deal!!!!!!

So what should we expect now?

Congratulations! Are you approved for fostering, adoption, or foster/adopt?

I am foster/adopt...got my license at the end of September last year and got my first placement the next afternoon. I am now on my 3rd placement. Got a little boy about a week ago, he's 2 years old.

Buckle up because it's going to be a bumpy ride! But very enjoyable!

Congratulations!!!

We were just approved the end of March.. so I know the feeling of ... sigh... it is finally a done deal!! WOO HOOO!!

Now the real waiting begins.... I started double time on my sewing to stay sane. Hopefully you will get a placement very soon. We are still waiting but are told it should be just anyday.

We will be placed with a newborn and we just can't wait.

Congratulations!!! I remember when we got our news. WOW!! We were licensed Aug. 31, 2004 but weren't told until Sept. 15!!! We're foster/adopt or straight adopt (we could straight foster, but chose not to), so we went wild looking at all the pictures on-line of kids.

Our placement worker called on a Monday in Oct. and we got our 3 sibs on Friday 4 days later!!!

What are you hoping for? Infant? single? siblings?

Expect the unexpected. Expect that they won't tell you everything, and things they do tell you may not be true. It all works out though.

We got the call about a week after we were approved for a sibling group of two. They arrived 2 days later and we still have them. We are wanting to foster to adopt but these kids may get to go home. M is 4 and S is 2 one girl one boy. They are really great kids, a few things we have had to really work on but over all the kids are great. Since getting them I have taking a part time job instead of full just this last week. They go to the dr a few more times than what a full time job likes. I tend to really want to feel sorry and help the bmom but I know I can't. Is this normal and what should I do to help myself not worry about her.
