Can anyone share when the PRIDE training classes will begin in the Dallas area through CPS? (summer 2004) I was told that there were some Faith Based programs that were offering the PRIDE training..but I don't know where or when. (Area churches that would conduct the classes for CPS) Any help is appreciated!!!

I just heard yesterday from my PRIDE trainer (Dallas) that they are going to reduce the number of PRIDE classes to once a year! There are apparently some cutbacks and she, in turn, is going to be out of a job. She does nothing but teach PRIDE classes. She finished with our class in January and immediately started the next one. I don't know how they can justify doing this since they are in such need of foster homes. Doesn't make sense!

During the information session that I went to last year we were given the opportunity to go through CPS or another agency. They gave us a list of agencies that worked with CPS. Some specialized in special needs children, etc. but I chose to go with CPS. We were given a little more information about those agencies when we started the PRIDE classes. We had several couples that were making up classes they had previously missed but were going through other agencies and not CPS. That's all I know about the other agencies.

Good luck and hopefully you will get into the classes soon. I'm not sure when all of this is going to take affect but I know that my trainer is out of a job come July 1st.
