I have heard of that adoption agency, but went through Adoption Advisory, also located in Dallas.

Thanks Marylina:

Reassurance is always nice. We are currently matched with a birthmom through Adoption Access. Thus far, I have been very impressed with their friendliness and true concern for us and the birthmom. I have a tendency to ramble and not once did they seem annoyed, they always listenend! Also, no matter who we talk to at the agency they all seem to know who we are and what is happening with our match. Did you decide on using Adoption Access? I wish you the best of luck

Smile adoption access

Yes, I'm pretty sure we're going to use them. We're trying to go through that huge mountain of paperwork right now! And we're going to orientation April 16th.
I'm glad to hear you're getting good service. I called to ask some questions the other day and was asked to go to the website, so I wondered about how personal their service was.
Did you have your homestudy through them? How did that go? Is it as bad as the paperwork makes it seem?
How long did you wait for a match? We're hoping to adopt a biracial baby.
When is the baby due?
I hope everything goes great for you.

Hi Marylina:

No, we did not have our homestudy completed through them because we do not live in Texas. The paperwork and the homestudy are not bad, just time consuming. Just speak from the heart. The agency is just trying to make sure you can provide a loving, stable, healthy, happy home for your baby- hang in there it will all be fine We took two weekends and got the paperwork and profile done. This is our second adoption so the paperwork and homestudy went a little quicker. The birthmom is due at the end of May, so we are getting really excited! Also, I'm sure they directed you to their website because it is very informative. Don't worry they put up with my million questions! Feel free to e-mail me! Good Luck

negative experience with Adoption Access

Our adopted son was born August 2002. While at Presbyterian hospital in Dallas, our birthmother was approached by several representatives of Adoption Access. Our birthmother apparently started talking to another birthmother in the hospital who was going through Adoption Access. The representatives started talking to our birthmother and convinced her to get us to agree to a list of demands 12 hours before she was to sign the final paperwork. They KNEW that she and the birthfather had been working with us and that we were the chosen adoptive parents. I was the birthing coach and the first one to hold my son, we had already agreed upon a semi-open adoption.
I thought it was in EXTREMELY POOR TASTE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL of these particular representatives of Adoption Access to continue speaking to our birtmother after learning that she had already chosen us.
That is my only experience with that agency and I hope no one else has had this happen to them!

Cherildd,
Has your baby been born yet? How are things going?
We sent in our paperwork around May 10th and our homestudy is set for June 17th.
I'd love to hear how things went for you.

Marilyn

Adoption Access

Hello Cherildd:

We had two phone conversations with Adoption Access - they were very unfriendly and not professional in our opinion. We decided not to work with them!

I hope this information help a little!

Sincerely,
Aida
