Hello everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself and husband.
I am Karen 25 and DH is 27. We have been married for 3 years and 6 months. We have been through fertility and now we are with an adopt agency in Dallas and they matched us with a birthmother really fast. We are very excited. She is due June 27. And it is a girl. Now we just wait and pray for our birthmother and that she will not change her mind and that the baby will be healthy. We are going to name her Sklyer. We are so excited and happy. Also scared and unpatiant. Our birthmother is very young. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. She is already really big and misrable and she has one more trimester to go. We are doing a closed adoption. We both want it that way. But, I want to let our daughter know that her bmother was young and in school and could not give her the life that someone else could.
We are really blessed to have this baby come into our life. Everyone is really excited for us and really supportive. We are doing fundrasiers and raffle to raise money for the adoption. People are very giving when it comes to this.
Anyways, I would like to hear more stories from others.

Best of Luck to you!

Hello!
My name is Mandy and my husband and I live in Austin. You are younger than a lot of couples that are adopting it seems (we are only 32 years old, both of us), and people always tell us we're young for adoptive parents. I think it's because we decided not to pursue our infertility treatments past 1 1/2 years, and we were married 5 years before we even started trying to have a baby, and then found out about our fertility problems!

We are also using an agency in Dallas. We are just about ready to turn in our paperwork (in a week to 10 days), and then the waiting begins. I hope we don't have to wait long for a match, and we plan to be aggressive with our marketing and web marketing. But, I do know all of this is not in our hands and I plan to try and be patient! At least my beloved sister has 2 small children, and we dote on them constantly. We also have 2 loving dogs that we treat as our children. The Austin Auxiliary network we are joining should also be a big support and help to us as we wait away the months.

I hope our process goes as smoothly and quickly as yours! I will pray for everything to proceed as you want, and for the birthmother to make all the right decisions (for herself, the baby and you guys!)

Welcome!
Mandy P.

hello karen

Very excited for you !! My wife and myself are with an agency and still waiting for a placement situation. We too are wanting to have a baby girl, i was wondering if you could provide me the agency contact info you are working with.

Have you heard of Adoption Advisory, Inc., out of Dallas/Houston/San Antonio ?? http://www.adoptadvisory.com

You will have to keep me posted on your situation, i am sure this will be a long three months for you. Keep your faith, pray and know that God has a plan for each of us. If that plan is for you to hold that little girl it will happen.

Good luck,

john

agency

Thank you John for your e-mail. I am sorry you and our wife have been on a list for so long. I am really suprised that we were picked so fast. She said it doesn't happen like that often, but we just contacted her at the right time. But, you can look up the web site: cfiadopt.org ( you can find info there, about the agency. I don't know if you are looking for anglo or another raise but, they do specialize in black babies or kids, but they do have anglo birthmothers at times. So, it won't hurt to check them out. It was great for us.
Why are you wanting a girl only?
We did't care but, we are happy it is a girl. And if there is another one in there than maybe it well be a boy. One of each would be great. But, as long as there healthy.
Good luck
-K
