Support Group-San Antonio area
Hello everyone,
I have been looking for a support group in San Antonio for hopeful adoptive couples or singles. I have been unsuccessful and so now I have decided to start my own. A little background on me: I am an adopted child with a wonderful upbringing. I lived in Mexico City until I was 18 and then moved to San Antonio. I reunited with my birthmother 14 years ago and we have a wonderful growing relationship. Now my DH and I are adopting through a local agency. If I understood them correctly, since they are still fairly "new", they don't have support groups in place for adoptive parents yet. Currently they only offer "support" and counseling to b-moms and b-dads. SO.... I would like to start a monthly group for the rest of us. We would meet once a month and form a network. This will only be a place to gather and share our expiriences and perhaps get some support from others who are in the same boat. We can share our stories and hopefully some laughs!
