State adoption costs???
Does anyone know what the general costs would be with adopting through the state? Also, do you still seek your own attorney for the finalization?

I'm assuming you're adopting through the state of TX? We were just placed with our two kids from Texas. For each child there is a $1500 non-recurring adoption expense reimbursement which will cover legal fees and any travel or related costs directly related to the adoption. This is not reimbursed until the finalization however and you will need all your receipts.
Our TDFPS office directed us to some attorneys. There are some pro bono ones out there, but we have chosen to pay just because we don't want to be waiting around on birth certificates. Other than that we have had no expenses (besides getting the house ready).
