new to adoption and need help
Hello, everyone! I'm always listening in, but until now I've been too chicken to post a message. I've mustered up the courage b/c I could really use your help. My husband and I are just "starting" the adoption process, but I feel as if I have been researching agencies and facilitators FOREVER. We have finally narrowed it down to two agencies. We live in Houston and decided it would be best to find one in Texas. If anyone could PM me and tell me about their experiences with Caring Choices, Inc. or Adoption Affiliates I would really appreciate it. Or if you had a great experience with another agency in Texas, please tell.
Thanks, Stacey |

Hi, I am also new to this experience. My husband I are trying to find a Texas agency. We live N.of Houston. I have been looking at Gladney and Adoption Access. An Co- worker of my husbands used Adoption Access and was very pleased! Have you heard anything about these agencies? What made you choose to focus on the ones you did? Thank you for all your help!

Adoption Consultant
My husband and I also live in Houston. We were recommended to an adoption consultant. We are going to meet with her to help us narrow down the search and help determine what is right for us. Her website is www.adoptionlady.com. A different friend of mine that recently adopted told me of the following agencies:
(In her words...) agencies that i would recommend: AICS (adoption information counseling services) Husband and wife team locally and are great! Adoption Access- agency based in Dallas AIM-alternatives in motion- locally based in houston Adoption access will be the most expensive. AICS will form a close relationship with them because they are smaller, hence the wait for a baby will be longer. AIM- the wait list will be the shortest. They are large and really the wait would probably be under 9 months. This is just what I have learned so far. Hope it helps. |
