Have you contacted Gladney or petitioned the court?

Hi mlassi,
Yes,I am in contact with Gladney. I received my non-id, signed up for the voluntary registry(no match), and just recently sent in the Direct Post Adoption Contract. I have not petitioned the court, that would be my last step considering I do not live in Texas. |

You dont have to live in the county the adoption was finalized in. You can petition via a certified, notarized letter.

mlassi,
This is very confusing and aggravating for me. VERY. I have difficulty reading, comprehending and digesting books ect., and when it comes to laws/legal speak/legal actions I need to take I am completely lost.... I was told by the Court Coordinator that released to me the cause # and District Court # that my next step was to "File Motion to Unseal Records" and to do that I needed to appear in person. I don't know if this is the same as a Petition to unseal records or what the difference is. I don't know what to do or say at this point, I'm fed up and exhausted. Thanks for trying to help but please tell me exactly what I need to do as to avoid any further confusion. |

the petition and file motion to unseal records are the same. I would contact the court again and explain you live out of state and would they accept a notarized letter from you. If this person says no (some just wont be helpful at all and some dont even really know the law) send a letter directly to the judge explaining the situation.
