Help in Searching for BirthMom - I have her name

Tracy, I would love some help. I was born in Knoxville, TN through a private adoption. My birth mom and her mom met my Adopted mom and dad before I was born. I have her name (maiden) and address where she lived when I was born (49 yrs ago). I have done a name search in the Knoxville area and there are several people with her name (maiden). I would kind of doubt that one of them is my birth mom. Although I am really tempted to call. The main thing I don't want to do in searching for her is let anyone know that I'm trying to find her in case she didn't tell anyone other than her parents. Does that make sense and how does one go about doing this? I just need help in tracking her down somehow, someway. I have not only medical reasons but also the hole in my heart and the deepest wish to thank her for her kindness and I'm sure the hardest thing she's ever done in giving me up, for I have had a wonderful life with loving parents. Thanks so much for any tips or advice you can give me.

I even know she was born in March 1956 I just can't get the day she was born from anybody, recently my cousin was contacted by letter from Nashville
they confirm she is looking but all my stuff is in storage (we are military just get back from Europe and going back to another duty station so there is no telling when we are coming back to a duty station in the states I have written Tx where I was born and adopted (I was able to get all my records unsealed, now in storage). DNA testing is a option which I am certianly willing to entertain if I could finally meet my sis. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated or advise also.

son: born 8/4/1973

I have been registered with the Kentucky Adoption Services online with Linda Cecil. So far nothing, since my son was born in Tennessee at Vanderbilt Hospital, and adopted in Kentucky. I was staying at the Florence Crittendon Home on Division street.

Here is my info:
Child: Christopher Daniel Seaford or Wilkerson
BD: August 4, 1973
Weight: 8lbs 8 oz
My Name: Lu Ann Seaford or Wilkerson Kentucky
BF Name: Tony Middleton Tennessee

The proroblem I am having is that the child was adopted in Kentucky, and I have the name of the social worker who picked him up and took him to be adopted. I did not sign the paperwork until a couple of months later.

I cannot remember what last name I used. My birth name was Wilkerson, but I went by my stepfather's last name, Seaford.

The truth is, the name of the birth father is incorrect, in other words, I lied. The birth father is really from kentucky and will divulge his name at the appropriate time.

If you can help me, it would be fantastic. I currently live in California.

my email address is:
Hippiemamalu@aol.com

THanks
Lu Ann Wilkerson Seaford Johnson

Hello. I am sure there is not much help I can get at this time, as my son is only 19 years old. I started my search recently, as I was disturbed by a 60 Minutes program where they had shown faces of fallen soldiers. One of the young men whose picture went across looked my son's b-dad. My first thought was not of my son, but "wow, that looks like a younger David, with my hair color". My babies dad had big dimple in chin and just some undeniable facial characteristics. After the picture was gone, it hit me that it could have been my son. I have recently found out that my son would have to be 21 before I could request access to his records. I have also talked w/his b-dad, who recently found out he has lupus, and his mother has lupus also. I know I can request this info be sent to my son.......I guess what I really want to know is if there any way around getting info on my son before his 21st birthday, as I really just need to know that he is all right.....If you can help, or have any suggestions, I greatly appreciate it. You can contact me at ginzan2003@yaho.com. Thanks, Gina

Just wondered if you had any idea on a timeframe. I sent off (yesterday) to get original birth certificate for my daughter who is over 21. How long does it take after submitting the request to Nashville? Just wondered if it was just a normal couple of weeks or if it was several months? Curious.

I had sent info to be put in his file when he turned 18 last year, in case he tried to find me. When I mailed that info, it took maybe 2-3 weeks before I received a reply stating it was in his folder. I'm not sure, but you may also request to have the files open, and from what I was informed of, they will search for your child to request permission to release the info. I wish you much luck in your search for your daughter. I will keep you and her in my prayers.

I think I didn't make myself clear on my earlier post.
I am the adoptive mother....my daughter is now 30 years old....I would like to obtain her original birth certificate showing her birth name and parents. I have never had this information or requested it before. I have heard that in TN you can request the original birth certificate so I did that. I mailed off yesterday and was wondering what kind of a time frame I was looking at on them actually sending it to me.....or is it really that easy?

I am sorry I misunderstood. But, I think it is probably the same as b-mom trying to open the sealed file. I believe they still have to get permission to give info on b-mom. I could be wrong, but if that is the case, it could take a while. Again, I wish you luck and will keep you all in my prayers.

I'm looking for my sisters son that she gave up for adoption. Her name was Linda Sue Pendleton, the baby was born Middlesboro,Ky. between 1977 and 1979,the baby was premature and was lifestared to Knoxville,Tn.The baby weighed less than 2 lbs. at birth so it stayed in the hospital for quiet sometime before the adoptive parents could take it.I've known of this for quiey sometime now but my sister never spoke to me about it,but I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me as my sister was accidentally shot and killed on Oct.6 2004.I'm really having a hard time of letting go.Please if anyone can help me,or just point me in the right direction.my email address is cobralady_227@hotmail.com
