I am currently waiting for approval to adopt from Colombia. My DH and I were considering a dual adoption.

Can anyone tell me if Taiwan allows dual adoption?
Can parents choose gender?
How long does the process generally take?

The process in Taiwan can vary greatly right now depending upon which agency you choose to work with. Some are quoting 18 months to referral or more and are quite accurate! A couple are quoting 9-12 months and they are experienced in Taiwan thus more than likely also accurate. The wait after referral is now running about 6 months to pick up or travel call. Some agencies allow you to choose gender. Taiwan is kind of going through a "crack down" on their rules but not badly. They are mainly not allowing "get out of regulation" cards anymore. Meaning that they once waived a family for being under the "orphanage reg" age or they would allow a larger family than normal to adopt. With so many families in line they are not writing many waivers anymore and are making their rules stick. There is a post on my blog with all the "placing" orphanage's rules on it... the blog is in my signature and the post is on the first set of posts.. so you will have to go to the older posts page and read there. I would paste it here but I am not allowed since it is orphanage specific. If you need further help with getting this info let me know please.
After referral and courts, the time in Taiwan is 4-5 days.
Yes, most agencies will allow "dual" adoptions to take place. YOU have to be careful about the agency however. If you don't get the answer you want move onto another agency. The agencies all have their own regulations and some will represent their regs as Taiwan or Taiwan Orphanage regs and THEY ARE NOT!
