On Tuesday December 14th, around 10:00PM MST, we will close the Adoption Forums Website for a few hours while we make some changes...

For the last 6 months, we have worked on a new Adoption Forums, using your feedback to help us build a better Message Boards.

We will be upgrading the site to the newest version of the vBulletin Message Board Software, which adds literally thousands of new features, fixes, and tweeks.

Please be patient with us as we go through this transition.

How do you access the categories that you used to be able to select under options?

Otherwise, I don't understand what you mean by categories.

I absolutely LOVE it with one minor complaint. In Internet Explorer, you can't view posts in their entirety without scrolling to the right. Am I just being lame and missing something here? Is there a button to click somewhere that makes the boards full screen so I am not constantly scrolling. Other than that I think the new format is GREAT!

At the bottom of each page, there is a pull down that will allow you to change the "Style" of the layout. There is 2 options, the latter being 100% width. Try that out and see if it helps.

Is it just me, or is it hard to see? I have a pale purple frame with white writing, or white frames with pale purple text.

The text of the messages is black on white, so that's okay but the rest is a challenge.

Edited to add: Okay, I've just spent 10 minutes browsing and my eyes are bleary. Scrolling through a thread itself isn't too challenging. The part that's really tough to see is the page that lists all of the new threads.

You all have done so much work on these forums and I'm grateful! But I DO want to be able to use them without losing my vision - maybe there's a color setting change that will allow more contrast?

Andy,

You can set it as your default by going to the User Control Panel (User CP) at the top of the page

User Control Panel

Select "Edit Options" on the left side of the screen.

Scroll to the bottom of the page, and it will say, "Forum Skin" just above the "Save Changes" and "Reset Fields" buttons...make your selection and then click "Save Changes" and you should be good to go...

Let me know if you can't get it

Yes, you may set it as your default, it will remember what you choose.

As to the colors, we will probably play with a few things over the next week, and try to find something that works better.

It seems to take a really long time to scroll through messages-- I think the headers at the top of the messages take up too much room. It's lovely, just not that reader friendly.
