This year is harder than last. I was at the birthday party last year... and she was actually here, in my home, on her birthday as D was out the entire week before my wedding helping me to get ready. There was something beautiful about returning home from work that night to see Miss Munchkin curled up on the couch with D.

We couldn't get together for the birthday this year due to the fact that both families have newborns. I'm sad. I'm really freaking sad.

On top of everything, I'm JUST NOW mailing her birthday present (and Christmas presents) today. I feel like a horrible Birthmother.

Part of me just wants to lay in bed all day but I have a Mr. Nicholas who is quite demanding of my time right now and a Christmas party to attend this evening. Hurrah?

So, Happy Birthday, Munchkin. I love and miss you.

I wouldnt worry about the presents arriving a tad late...Don't you find when they have all of their birthday presents at once, they can be a bit overwhelmed? She'll be just as thrilled to recieve them when they arrive.

We're trying to get together in January before I head back to work.

I got the most amazing gift from J & D today; a CD with a power point presentation of a bunch of pictures with me and the Munchkin and any pictures that showed her eyes really well set to Martina McBride's "In My Daughter's Eyes."

She has my eyes.

Back to work already??? Oh my!! How do you feel about that? I am asking because I know some moms who can't wait to go back and others who feel differently. I hope you've worked a schedule out that works for all of you!

That's a really sweet gift!!

I always struggle with what to get T for special occasions. I want them to be keepsakes, but it's hard to know what will be special to her. We got together this past weekend, and she seemed to like the little booky thing I made her. *sigh of relief*

Well, January will be here before you know it... What a great visit you'll have this time! Is this the first time you'll see each others babes?
