Ethan was 14 months old when we brought him home in 12/01 from Russia

We adopted here in Nova Scotia. We got to be in the delivery room when Liam was born, spent 4 days in hospital with him (he wasn't sick, just waiting for foster home to be available) and got to visit everyday at the foster home. We brought him home when he was 19 days old.

E was 5 months old when we were granted guardianship and a little over 2 years when the adoption was finalized. It was a family adoption.

We got the chance to spend some time with her in the hospital before she was released at 1 week old.

I met Rebecca in Xiamen (Fujian province), China on May 5, 1997, when she was 18 months old and I was "only" 51. Now, she is 7.5 years old and I am 57. We are having a wonderful time.

We were at the hospital when J was born, since it was a private adoption not an agency adoption he was never put in foster care. We stayed with him till he was released then brought him home at 3 weeks old (preemie). D came at six through FIA, her adoption was final at 9. A came at 11 months through FIA, her adoption was final at 2 1/2.

My daughter's birthmother chose us as parents before TD's birth. (By letter and phone, not face to face.) After delivery, TD's birthmom kept TD with her for 13 days, thinking about her decision not to parent. We were not notified of her birth. When we checked, the agency (domestic) said they thought the birthmom would not follow through with adoption. She did. TD was in foster care for 6 days, and then placed with us at 19 days old.

Max came home with us at 2 weeks old. It was a domestic adoption here in the US.
