Step Parent Adoption in Georgia
Hi everyone! I am totally new to all of this. I have a 7 year old who's never known her BF. Last time he seen her, she was 7 months old. He isn't on her birth certificate, never gave me a dime towards her, never called or anything. My husband has been in her life since she was 10 months old. She calls him Daddy, he takes her to doc appointments, goes to school programs, financially supports her, etc. He wants to go forward with step parent adoption in February. But we have a few questions...
1. How long does this adoption take? 2. Isn't there an adoption that is based on income? ( my husband was told about this at work ) 3. How much is it roughly going to cost? Any help would be much appreciated.
