My husband (newlyweds) i have been together for a while. He is the ONLY man that either (2) of my children knows. He has been with them since they were 2 and 5. We want him to adopt them. My 8yr hasn't seen their BIO since they were less than a year old. He is NOT on the birth certificate but signed the AOP forms. Also they have his last name bc i thought that would push child support faster-FOOLED ME. My 5yr BIO doesn't know they exist and doesn't want to know(2wk fling gone bad). They are both furious abt their last names and wants them changed to their dad's last name (husband) which i don't blame them. I have searched by foot, phone, internet, the state, etc trying to find these ppl tht don't want to be found. I have even posted bullentines. We don't want to do anything else and we can't afford to do anything else. We just want this over with. Where do we start? Apologize abt long wind

Call your county - if the bfather's names are not on the birth certificate and they have not provided support - you will be able to follow your own counties protocol. For us that meant to post ads in papers where we last knew he was and if no answer was received, the parental rights were assumed terminated. Get an attorney if you have to...
