My husband and I have a very huge twisted,complicated situation. I won't tell the whole story except what needs to be known. My stepson is 3 1/2. His mother ran away with him last year and now has supervised visitation. She has not seen him in almost 7 months nor called in a few months. She is pregnant and has no desire to see him. We are also about to get a restraining order against her for threatening to "kill us all". I have her mother recorded telling me that she had said this. I have been told that we can file abandonment charges against her since it has been 4 months. I just need to know what will happen and if we would need a lawyer for this. We have a lawyer but he does not seem interested in helping nor do we have the $1000 to pay. We are waiting to hear from the DA about the unpaid child support case right now. We just want to get this done and make sure she stays away. We are sure she has MSbP. Please help!!
