stepparent adoption in va.
I Live In Va And My Wife Would Like To Adopt My Children From My First Disaster. They Have Had No Contact With The Bio For About 6 Years And, Actually Came Up With The Idea Of Their Stepmom Adopting Them. They Are 12 And 14 Years Old So I Wonder If They Would Have Any Input In The Proceedings? IF ANYONE HAS BEEN THROUGH THIS IN VA PLEASE HELP ME WITH SOME ADVICE.

at that age, they will most likely have to sign a form saying that they agree to the adoption. The judge may wish to ask them in court if they agree to the adoption as well, but a hearing for the finalization is not required in all counties of Va.
