Step Parent Adoption In Bexar County
HELLO ALL
I HAVE JUST BARELY STARTED TO LOOK INTO A STEP PARENT ADOPTION. WE ACTUALLY JUST GOT THE NEWS YESTERDAY THAT THE BF IS WILLING TO GIVE UP HIS RIGHTS.  SO IM STARTING FROM SCRATCH.  ANYONE (ESPECIALLY IN BEXAR COUNTY, SAN ANTONIO TEXAS) PLEASE GIVE ME ANY ADVICE. WE WERE INITIALLY GOING TO HIRE A LAWYER. I DIDNT KNOW THAT IT COULD BE DONE WITH OUT ONE. SO KNOWING THAT I CAN ONLY ASSUME IT WILL SAVE ME LOTS OF $$$ THAT I WOULD RATHER SPEND ON MY CHILD ANYWAY. HAS ANYONE NEARBY GONE THROUGH THIS? PLEASE ANY ADVICE OR COMMENTS WILL GUIDE ME. THANKS AGAIN,  NICOLE

If the other parent is willing to give up his rights, than your adoption should be a fairly smooth one. The first thing you need to do is call your local Clerk of Courts, and he or she will direct you as to what forms you will need, and where to obtain them.
