Step adoption of an already adopted child
Does anyone have an experience of step adoption of an already adopted child?
I am not going to go into details as my story is on the failed adoption page. I am just seeking support/advice from people in similar situations. I am also in the UK so maybe a different process. My husband and I adopted a little boy some years ago. We split up 3 years ago. Our son stayed with my ex husband - he didn't bond with me at all. I tried to continue a relationship with him but this totally broke down 2 years ago. My ex husband has been in a new relationship for 3 years and is now remarried and his spouse, who has an incredible bond/relationship with my son wants to adopt him from me. I am not in a position to contest this as I feel it is the best way forward for our son first and for me secondly, I need closure on this part of my life. Does anyone have experience of this? Kat
