after 6 months of rollercoaster riding, my son's adoption was finally completed!...Lemme tell you, money TALKS! We started off originally going for a name change, but my x decided to fight for custody rather than let the name change go through (even though he had no contact with my 7 year old since he was 2). Obviously, since he never attended the court ordered drug rehabilitation, there was no way that he would ever get custody, but you never know, stranger things have happened. Anyway, it was finally agreed that I would give up all of the arrears (30,000) and pending medical bills (3,500), and he would give up his parental rights. I would give up 10,000,000 in order to give my son the emotional and familial stability that he deserves. So last Wednesday, it was DONE, and we couldn't be happier!
