need some info on SP adoption

i am needing to know how long you have to be married in the state of texas for your spouce to adopt your child. i once was told it was a year and then was told it was six months that you had to be married but i haven't been able to find out exactly which, if either of those that it is. if anyone out there knows how long it is for the state of texas please let me know.
