physical exam for step-parent adoption in texas
hi!
My wife is adopting my daughter. We're not using a lawyer. Does she need to get a physical exam? If so, can she just have a routine physical exam done at her family practice physician's office? Are there any specific forms to be filled out? Her physician's office did not know about any forms for adoption. Thanks! |

I've never heard of a physical exam for adoption. In Washington, they have home inspections, but not physicals. Even though you are not using a lawyer, you could probably call around to adoption attorney's offices in your area. One of them will probably tell you if you need a physical exam.
